AXA consultant fees explained

Some private health insurance providers have more criteria than others. Patients will need to meet these before they can be approved for treatment. The AXA website has more information around fees.

How it works

As we mentioned earlier, it’s now time to look at the process of accessing private healthcare with us via private health insurance. The following step-by-step guide breaks it all down into easy-to-understand sections.

Contact your health insurance provider

Before you can get to treatment, the first thing you’ll need to do is get in touch with AXA. They’ll be able to tell you whether your treatment is financially covered by the terms of your policy and, if it is, they’ll provide you with an authorisation code. This code allows you to proceed to booking an initial consultation with us, so be sure to keep it somewhere safe!

Choose a consultant

Once you’ve got your authorisation code, AXA will also send you a list of consultants that they’ve approved to carry out treatment for your issue. At this point, you’ll need to decide as to which one you’d like to see for a consultation. Remember to take your time; choosing a consultant is an important decision and you may wish to do your own research.

Book an initial consultation

Once you’ve chosen a consultant, the next step is to get in touch with us here at Practice Plus Group. Our friendly patient advisors will get you booked in for an initial consultation at a time that suits you.

Remember, your pre-surgery consultation is an opportunity to learn more about your specific health issue. Don’t be reluctant to speak up and ask your consultant plenty of questions about what’s to come. Depending on your condition, further diagnostic tests may be needed to arrive at a diagnosis.

Book your procedure

If you do need treatment, we’ll provide you with a procedure code. This is sometimes also called a CCSD code which you’ll need to give to AXA so they can confirm your treatment is covered.

How payment works

Please ensure that you have authorised your treatment directly with AXA. As an insured patient, you’ll need to have your authorisation code available for each step of your treatment.

AXA will be able to advise you of any fees or excess payments you may be liable for. These may include:

  • excess payments
  • cost-share agreements
  • limits on outpatient consultations
  • diagnostic tests
  • any policy restrictions that could financially affect you.

To confirm whether you need to pay any excesses, clarify the limitations and liabilities on your policy, you’ll need to get in touch with AXA directly.

AXA consultant reviews

If persistent pain is affecting your quality of life, it might be time to get it sorted. And that’s where our AXA-approved specialists come in. They’re on-hand to help get you back on your feet and enjoying life again. But don’t just take our word for it, have a look at what a past patient has said about his experience with one of our AXA-approved consultants.

How much is AXA private healthcare?

There are a range of different factors to consider when it comes to the cost of private health insurance. You’ll need to get in touch directly with AXA to get a quote for a policy.

    Do AXA cover pre-existing conditions?

This depends on how your insurance policy has been underwritten. You’ll need to have a chat with AXA to confirm the details of your policy before treatment can start.
