Ganglion cyst removal
A ganglion cyst is a fluid-filled swelling that develops near a joint or tendon, usually on the wrist, hand or fingers. The fluid is either drained out of the cyst using a syringe, or the cyst is removed during surgery.
CTS is caused by the compression of the median nerve at the wrist in the carpal tunnel, resulting in pain and numbness in the fingers. It can be treated with steroids, splinting and physiotherapy, and, in severe cases, carpal tunnel surgery.
The trapezium is a small bone in your wrist at the base of your thumb which is commonly affected by arthritis. A trapeziectomy is the removal of this bone.
De Quervain’s is a condition affecting the tendons located on the thumb side of your wrist which may require surgery to reduce pressure.
Wrist arthroscopy
This surgical procedure is performed via keyhole surgery using an arthroscope attached to a video camera. It is used to repair damage caused to the wrist through trauma, wear and tear or damage to the ligaments and tendons.

Dupuytren’s contracture release surgery
Dupuytren’s contracture occurs in the hand where the fingers bend towards the palm and cannot be fully straightened. Treatment includes surgery (fasciectomy) where hand surgeons remove the tissue causing the fingers to bend, or an injection to break down this tissue.
Trigger finger is where the finger or thumb gets locked into place when bent towards the palm. Surgery, either keyhole or open surgery, involves dividing a ligament to release the tendon.
The ulnar nerve goes around the back of the inner side of your elbow and through a tight tunnel between the forearm muscles. Pressure or compression on the nerve can result in numbness in the ring and little fingers, which minor surgery can release.

Best hospital I have ever been in
This is the best hospital I have ever been in. The care and efficiency were excellent. My operation was conducted by a top class surgeon and anaesthetist who made me feel relaxed and secure. The team in the Kingfisher ward were kind and professional with good bedside manners and sense of humour. There were no delays in the treatment. My stay was made as comfortable as possible and I thank everyone involved. I am now recovering well.
