His pursuit of advanced surgical techniques led him to the UK, where he completed a fellowship in colorectal surgery at the Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Foundation Trust, gaining expertise in oncologic colorectal cancer, advanced rectal cancers, and intricate abdominal wall surgeries.
Before joining the Practice Plus Group Hospital of Birmingham, Mr Baptista served at St James’s University Hospital under the leadership of Professor Giles Toogood and worked as a consultant emergency general surgeon at the prestigious Leeds Teaching Hospitals.
