How to find a Healix consultant

Our simple Healix consultant finder takes the stress out of searching for the right consultant. The handy extra filters allow you to search by treatment type and location to make your experience as straightforward as possible.

Remember to take your time when it comes to choosing your approved consultant. Your chosen specialist should have experience carrying out the treatment you need alongside good reviews from past patients.

Before you progress to make a booking with us at Practice Plus Group, remember to check the terms of your policy to make sure the specific treatment you need is covered.

Healix consultant fees explained

All private healthcare costs vary depending on the type of treatment needed.

And, when it comes to taking out private health insurance, you should be aware that Healix’s requirements may differ from other insurance providers. With that in mind, you’ll need to ensure these parameters are met before you can progress with your claim and be approved for treatment.

For more information on consultant fees and the costs you may incur for insured healthcare treatment, you’ll need to visit the Healix website.

How it works

The step-by-step guide below takes you through the process of accessing Practice Plus Group private healthcare using your Healix insurance policy.

Contact your health insurance provider

The first thing you’ll need to do is get in touch with Healix. They’ll let you know whether your treatment is financially covered by the terms of your policy. If so, they’ll also supply you with an authorisation code. This allows you to proceed to booking an initial consultation with us.

Choose a registered consultant

Healix will also send you a list of consultants that they’ve approved to carry out treatment for your issue. At this point, you’ll need to choose one of these from the list. Remember to take your time; choosing a consultant is an important decision and you may wish to do your own research.

Book an initial consultation

Having chosen a consultant, the next step is to get in touch with us. Our friendly patient advisors will get you booked in for an initial consultation at a time that suits you.

Remember, your pre-surgery consultation is an opportunity to learn more about your specific health issue. Don’t be reluctant to speak up and ask your consultant plenty of questions about what’s to come. Depending on your condition, further diagnostic tests may be needed to arrive at a diagnosis.

Book your procedure

If your consultant indicates that you need treatment, we’ll provide you with a procedure code (also called a CCSD code). You’ll need to give this to Healix to help confirm your insurance cover.

How payment works

Please ensure that you have authorised your treatment directly with Healix. As an insured patient, you’ll need to have your authorisation code available for each step of your treatment.

Healix will be able to advise you of any fees or excess payments you may be liable for. These may include:

  • excess payments
  • cost-share agreements
  • limits on outpatient consultations
  • diagnostic tests
  • any policy restrictions that could financially affect you.

To confirm whether you need to pay any excesses, clarify the limitations and liabilities on your policy, you’ll need to get in touch with Healix directly.

Why choose us for your insured surgery?
