Free transport service for knee or hip replacement patients

We have introduced the Wellsoon patient transport service to make your experience with us as relaxing and safe as possible.

You and your companion can travel to and from hospital for your surgery in a comfortable and spacious vehicle. The friendly drivers have been thoroughly trained to safely assist patients, and they’ll carry your hospital bags, with a smile! 

This service is free to patients within a 50 mile radius of Practice Plus Group Hospital, Barlborough, who are booked for knee or hip replacement surgery.

1. This offer is applicable to patients having hip or knee replacement surgery only.
2. ‘Free transport’ must be stated at the time of initial enquiry or when booking the operation for this offer to be valid.
3. This offer is applicable to self-pay patients only.
4. Transport must be booked at the time of confirming a surgery date. The hospital will manage transport changes or cancellations in line with the cancellation policy.
5. This offer is applicable to patients with a home address that is 50 miles or less in driving distance from the hospital address.
6. Transport is applicable for either a single journey or return journeys which are between one address and the hospital only.
7. There are no Practice Plus Group staff or any other staff in the vehicle with the exception of the driver.
8. The patient is welcome to have one companion join them in the patient transport vehicle.
9. The vehicles are designed specifically for patient transport, the drivers have been trained in moving and handling patients pre and post operatively.
10. The transport driver will assist with luggage and mobility support for the patient to access and leave the vehicle safely.
11. The patient transport service provider holds public liability insurance.
12. The transport provider holds responsibility for the passengers and their property whilst in the vehicle.
13. Practice Plus Group reserves the right to change or remove this offer.
14. There is no alternative to the offer or any cash substitute. The offer is non-transferable.
