Mr Mohamed is a consultant general and vascular surgeon and has been working in this role since 2006.
He joined Practice Plus Group Surgical Centre, Gillingham in 2010. He also works at Medway Maritime Hospital, Gillingham, Kent.
Mr Mohamed graduated from the Middlesex Hospital Medical School, University of London and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. He has a Master of Surgery degree from the University of London and he is on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council in general surgery.
As a senior consultant he has acquired the knowledge, skills and experience to care for, and operate on, patients presenting with a wide variety of general surgical and vascular conditions. These include abdominal and groin hernias, gallstones, haemorrhoids, other benign ano-rectal conditions, benign skin lesions, blocked or narrowed arteries, aneurysms, diabetic foot disease, vascular trauma, varicose veins and chronic leg ulcers. He sees patients who present both electively and as emergencies.
His fitness to practice is maintained through his continuing professional development activities and by having rigorous annual appraisals of his professional activities. He is a member of the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland, the British Medical Association and the Vascular Society of Great Britain and Ireland.
Mr Mohamed is deeply committed to the education, training and development of the next generation of doctors, surgeons and allied healthcare professionals by taking part in their teaching and training at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He is recognised as a medical educator by the General Medical Council, and has also been an examiner in surgery for the University of London.
