Tamara Gall graduated from The University of Edinburgh with a first-class honours degree in physiology and a distinction in bachelor of medicine and surgery in 2007. She undertook her basic and higher surgical training in London working at Imperial College Healthcare NHS trust, The Royal London Hospital and The Royal Marsden Hospital. During this time she completed a doctor of medicine by research with Imperial College London and a Royal College of Surgeons of England accredited fellowship in robotic HPB surgery. She was awarded the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland/ Intuitive Fellowship, The Simpson-Smith Fellowship and The Royal College of Surgeons and Worshipful Company of Cutler’s Fellowship award which enabled her to spend time observing Robotic HPB Surgery in Pittsburg, USA, Los Angeles, USA and Sydney, Australia. She received her Fellowship of The Royal College of Surgeons in 2019 and gained her completion of certificate of training in general and hepatobiliary surgery in 2021.
Following her completion of training she undertook a complex pancreatic surgery fellowship at The Royal NorthShore Hospital in Sydney, Australia and worked as a consultant hepatobiliary and general surgeon at The Mater Misericordiae Hospital in Dublin, Ireland.
At Practice Plus Group she specialises in hernia repairs, gallbladder surgery and removing skin lesions.
Research and publications
Tamara Gall has an active role in research and academia. She has published 68 peer-reviewed publications, has written 5 book chapters and is regularly invited to speak at International Conferences. She was a lead co-editor for the Royal College of Surgeons of England’s ‘Future of Surgery – Technology enhanced surgical training report’. She is the UK representative on the scientific committee for the International Hepatobiliary and pancreatic Association.
Hobbies and interests
As an ex International lacrosse player, Tamara likes to keep fit and active and particularly enjoys skiing and surfing. She likes spending time with her English and Argentine family and loves to travel the world discovering new cultures and adventures. She also wrote a fiction novel published in 2022.
