Placing people at the centre of our offer

We believe in putting the person first, regardless of the setting or their history.

That’s why we’re proud to deliver our services in some of the most challenging environments. Whether supporting individuals pre-/post-custody or delivering healthcare in secure environments, our colleagues are here to make a positive difference.

By improving care across the justice pathway, we are not only furthering the health and wellbeing of those in our care but supporting a reduction in reoffending behaviour — bringing broader benefits for those within our settings and wider society.

Services

Within our secure environments, we pride ourselves on providing high quality, clinically effective and efficient healthcare which empowers people to take their health seriously.

Healthcare within prisons and immigration removal centres

We deliver round-the-clock healthcare to over 41,000 patients at prisons and immigration removal centres nationwide.

We offer the health services each community requires under one roof, via a team of caring, skilled and compassionate professionals.

These range from reception health checks on arrival and regular GP services, to help with substance misuse, mental health, chronic or long-term conditions, podiatry, physiotherapy and optometry.

Support via non-custodial services

Our non-custodial services support people during the pre- and post-custody period, aiming to improve health outcomes while reducing offending behaviour.

Through a combination of liaison, advocacy and signposting, we help those with vulnerabilities to access appropriate services — helping to reduce inequality while supporting people on their journey towards improved health and wellbeing.

Improving health outcomes

Collaboration is the key to success, and we work closely with our key stakeholders including NHS commissioners, the prison service, and immigration removal centres to deliver healthcare services, improve outcomes, reduce waiting times and provide the very best frontline healthcare for patients.

We’re proud of our track record in improving the long-term health of our patients. Our work has won numerous awards, received praise in a large number of Care Quality Commission and His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Prisons reports, and had excellent feedback from patients and their families.
