Biography
Mr Omar Rafiq is a Consultant Ophthalmologist based at Practice Plus Group Rochdale. He is also a Visiting consultant ophthalmologist (glaucoma and anterior segment) at Moorfields Eye Hospital Abu Dhabi. Previously he was a Substantive Consultant working Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust and also at Al Zahra Hospital, UAE.
He has special interests in cataract surgery, glaucoma, including MIGS (Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery), and general ophthalmology.
Mr Rafiq gained his medical qualification from the University of Leeds in 2005. He went on to obtain his CCT from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists UK in 2014, as well as his FRCOphth. In 2019, he gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Cataract and Refractive Surgery from Ulster University.
