Mr Brendan McIlroy is a highly experienced general surgeon based in the West Midlands, specialising in colproctology and hernia repair surgery.

Biography

Mr McIlroy qualified with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Liverpool in 1987 before becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1991. He completed specialist colorectal training in the Mersey and North-west regions, joining the GMC Specialist Register in 1997.

He was appointed Consultant Surgeon at Southern Derbyshire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust in 1999. In 2005, he joined Wye Valley NHS Trust, where he worked as a Consultant Surgeon until 2023. His current practice focuses on coloproctology and abdominal wall hernias, with a particular emphasis on day-case surgery. He also offers local anaesthetic hernia repairs where appropriate.
