Consultation

Overnight procedures

If your hernia procedure requires an overnight stay, you’ll be transferred to our sister hospital at Practice Plus Group Hospital, Ilford.

The recovery

Recovery from hernia surgery doesn’t generally take as long as knee or hip procedures, however, this depends on the type of hernia you had. When you leave the hospital after your treatment, you’ll be given full details of your follow-up care. We will inform your GP that you’ve been discharged from the hospital. Day case patients are phoned the day after their surgery to check that they are recovering well.
