Mark has over 30 years of experience as a Consultant Podiatric Surgeon and has performed over 10,000 foot operations and 60,000 injections within the NHS and privately hospitals in Stafford. He has also provided advanced surgical practice within Diabetes and Rheumatology departments. He has a Professional Doctorate from Staffordshire University for his research into quantification of the mechanical response of the plantar fascia to changes in rearfoot position which has produced a unique protocol for the weight bearing assessment of the plantar fascia. He also has a Master’s Degree from the University of Huddersfield.
He has a range of clinical skills (Musculo-skeletal conditions) in sports medicine, biomechanics and orthosis, Stecco myofascial manipulation (level 1&2), foot mobilisation, acupuncture and hypnosis. He has also treated many National, Olympic and International athletes and professional sports individuals.
Mark is widely published and lecturing nationally and internationally and also lectures regularly to General Practitioners, Registrars and Consultants on lower limb pathology, and has previously lectured in Sports Biomechanics for the British Association of Sports Exercise and Medicine (BASEM). He has also been a surgical and clinical tutor at The University of Malta for over 15 years, and previously lectured at the Birmingham School of Podiatry and Staffordshire University and is a surgical tutor and examiner for the Royal College of Podiatry (Surgical Faculty).
He is also the inventor of the Dynastat a patented (UK, USA & Europe) device for measuring the complex angles of joints in the foot in a weight-bearing position whilst recording the peak pressure across the foot. From this, the foot can be scanned and bespoke 3D printed orthoses made.
