Biography
Harlene qualified as a dentist in 2007, spending several years as a general dental practitioner across the NHS and independent sectors. Having developed a great interest in the management of patients with complex medical conditions and treating anxious dental patents, she pursued many posts within the dental NHS secondary care sectors, that included maxillofacial surgery and the special care dental services. Harlene undertook specialist training within oral surgery at Birmingham Dental Hospital (2016-2019), as an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow that aligned with her research and teaching interests.
Harlene joined Practice Plus Group as a consultant oral surgeon in 2020 where she continues her pursuit to work with anxious dental patients and patients with complex medical/social needs, with a complementary role within the special care dental service.
