Practice Plus Group Diagnostics, Buckinghamshire has officially welcomed its very first patients into its brand-new £1.5m MRI suite – and Robert Peasley was the very first patient through its doors!

The new suite represents a major investment designed to increase diagnostic capacity and create a calmer, more comfortable experience for people across Buckinghamshire. The suite features the latest Siemens Magnetom Altea MRI scanner, modern consulting rooms, ambient lighting, and a wider scanner bore to help reduce claustrophobia and improve patient comfort. Early visitors to the suite have already shared their impressions of what it’s like to be among the first to experience the new technology.
Mr Peasley was the first person to be scanned in the new suite, and he immediately noticed the difference: “I was honoured to be the first patient to be scanned on this brand-new equipment today! I came to the centre for an MRI scan of my head, which took around half an hour.
“The new MRI scanner was much wider than I’ve been used to in the past, which made me feel far more comfortable and relaxed – I was almost going to sleep at one point.
“The room itself was fresh and well presented, and the staff were very pleasant and reassuring throughout. Having had MRI scans since I was a child, I can honestly say this was right at the top of the scale.
“The whole experience left me feeling reassured, and I’d definitely recommend the centre to anyone needing a scan.”

Also among the first to try the scanner was patient, Miss Mitchell, who arrived feeling unsure about what to expect from her first MRI:
