General surgery, Shepton Mallet – First class experience all round!

Absolutely first class experience for me. I think the best way to write this review is to simply put in here exactly what I wrote on the card which I took in to the Shepton Mallet hospital on my final post-op visit (along with boxes of treats for their staff rest room) – this was as follows:-

“I want to say thank you to all the staff that I met in my recent stay in the hospital. Every single one of you was professional and efficient combined with pleasantness and humour. My operation has been a complete success and I am truly grateful for all your efforts. My sincerest thanks to you once again.”

I cannot praise the hospital highly enough as the staff and systems were simply superb – my thanks yet again to all there.

Urology procedure, Shepton – very happy with my experience

Would highly recommend, opted to go for self pay urology treatment after really long waiting times at my local NHS hospital. Got my first consultation with the specialist within about 2 weeks and had surgery 1 week later. All the staff were extremely friendly, my consultant Chris Parker, was very friendly and knowledgeable and explained everything thoroughly. The anaesthetist was probably the nicest person I’ve ever met, very understanding and reassuring, easing any pre-surgery worries I had. Recovery was much quicker and a lot less painful than expected. Very happy with my experience.

Foot and ankle surgery, Shepton Mallet – I am indebted to you all

I needed some corrective surgery on my foot which I was initially told would be not be available on the NHS. However, I had a successful referral from OASIS and the whole experience has been trouble free. Appointments all delivered on time with super friendly staff. I had my operation yesterday at Shepton Mallet and the theatre team were just fantastic (at the age of 65 this was my first experience of a medical theatre). Special thanks to Mr Lattouf, Cosmo, Richard and Dimos the anaesthetist. There was a lady there too whose name I didn’t catch. I am indebted to you all.

Bunion removal surgery, Shepton Mallet – an amazing experience

Had my bunion surgery in December 2023 and July 2024. It was an amazing experience! I was so lucky to meet such a talented surgeon Gerard Lattouf, I have now beautiful feet and life without pain, will be grateful to him for the rest of my life I woke up smoothly after GA, thanks to Maria and Cosmo, my appointments were never late or cancelled, everyone is so nice and friendly. Thank you.

Hip replacement surgery, Shepton Mallet – friendly, helpful and caring

My husband recently had hip replacement surgery carried out at the Shepton Mallet Treatment Centre and has not looked back since!!! He would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the staff at the Centre, with a special thank you to Mr Adam Rozycki his Orthopaedic Consultant Surgeon, who did a wonderful job replacing his hip joint, now totally free of pain! All of the staff were very friendly, helpful and caring throughout his time at the centre. From the first visit, the surgery and follow up appointment the staff couldn’t do enough for him. Thank you once again. We have no hesitation in recommending Shepton Mallet Treatment Centre to anyone thinking of having hip replacement surgery. Shepton is the right place!!!

I had bunion surgery mid July. I received the most excellent care, service and treatment throughout my experience. From initial consultation, pre op, operation and post op. The reception staff, nursing staff and the most excellent surgeon Dr Lattouf were professional, efficient and made me feel at ease on each visit. Knee surgery, Shepton Mallet – everyone is 110% dedicated

I would just like to say a very big thank you to everyone at Practice Plus Group Hospital, Shepton Mallet from the receptionist who welcomes you with a smile and puts you at ease, the nurses who chat to you and make you feel special before your operation letting you know you’re in very safe hands, the surgery staff and doctors who operate and care for you during the operation. The after care quality has just been excellent, a nurse called me the day after I got home to make sure I was OK and didn’t need anything, the Physio staff making sure I’m recovering well, everyone at this hospital is 110% dedicated to caring for the patient to make sure you make a full recovery as fast as possible, thank you ever so much.

Gastroscopy, Shepton Mallet – 10/10 to all staff

Came in for Gastroscopy (stomach observation via camera) at the Practice Plus Group Hospital, Shepton Mallet. From the helpful smiling face at reception to being assessed by staff, and discussion in theatre, all were helpful to put my mind at rest. The dedicated staff kept me calm which really helped me. A speedy report followed 10 minutes later, while waiting in a comfy chair. It did not feel clinical at all it had that personal touch, so 10/10 to all staff.

Hip surgery, Shepton Mallet – back walking almost five miles a day

I was amazed at both the lack of hip and knee pain and the fact that I could walk so soon after the surgery. I’m making a fantastic recovery and am back walking almost five miles a day, including steep hills, and doing the exercises advised by the physiotherapist. From my very first visit, the care and consideration I received from the staff at the hospital was wonderful. Everyone I met in every role was wholly engaged as they performed it – receptionists, cleaners, x-ray technicians, nurses, doctors and other health professionals. My experience was extremely well managed.

Hip surgery, Shepton Mallet – we have saved £6,500

My wife had a total hip replacement yesterday at Practice Plus Group Hospital, Shepton Mallet. They were absolutely brilliant and if like me you maybe needing surgery but on a long waiting list and considering going private, they are definitely worth getting a quote from. We have saved £6,500 by going to them and not another private hospital. Her consultation was 27th May, operation 13th June, home on 14th.

I had a Partial Knee Replace at this hospital on the NHS. From start to finish my treatment by all was amazing. I cannot praise the care I had enough. The nurses are so friendly and caring. The hospital was very clean. A good choice of food. Highly recommend.
