Commenting on treatment and experience, Cheryl says:
“I’d been in agony with a frozen shoulder since January. At first, I thought it might be tendonitis or perhaps a symptom of perimenopause. I’d heard it was common for women of my age to get a frozen shoulder due to hormonal changes. I wanted to get some answers, so I visited my GP who sent me for an X-ray.
“Upon seeing the results, he couldn’t say for sure if it was tendonitis or due to the perimenopause, so he referred me to a Musculoskeletal Consultant in Surrey for NHS treatment. However, he couldn’t tell me how soon I’d be seen but that I was on a waiting list for an appointment.
“By then, I couldn’t sleep at night, and my range of movement was getting worse. I would spend hours awake at night with the pain. My limited shoulder movement meant I had difficulty every day with my job working in a school and looking after my daughter and couldn’t dream of doing activities I enjoy like swimming.
“Not knowing how much longer I’d have to wait on the NHS and being seriously hindered by my shoulder, I was at breaking point. I thought about visiting the clinic in Surrey I’d been to privately in the past for an Ultrasound Guided Injection (USGI) but recall it was astronomical, so in May I began to look online for cheaper alternatives.

“I asked my Dad to drive me the nearly 50-mile round trip from Surrey to its MSK facility in Buckinghamshire. The journey was easy, and the centre simple to find right off the M40. The facilities were very clean and welcoming, and the staff were all lovely.
