Samuel’s 20 years career in radiography at Practice Plus Group Diagnostics, Buckinghamshire

Senior Radiographer, Samuel Adeniran shares how discovering MRI transformed his career, marking 20 years of growth, learning, and patient care at Practice Plus Group Diagnostics, Buckinghamshire.

This year marks a double celebration for Practice Plus Group Diagnostics, Buckinghamshire and senior radiographer Samuel Aderemi Adeniran, both celebrating 20 years of dedicated service to patient care.

Samuel shares how his passion for MRI scanning and radiology has shaped his career journey.

“I first joined Practice Plus Group in 2005 in the radiology department at its surgical centre in Portsmouth, but at the time, we didn’t have MRI facilities there. When an opportunity came up in 2017 to train and work in MRI scanning at our diagnostics centre in Buckinghamshire I applied and got the job – I’ve been here ever since.

Both I and the Diagnostics centre celebrate 20 years’ service to patients this year!”

Growing through MRI training

“After switching roles, I began doing both X-ray and MRI imaging. My training in MRI really took off during the COVID period. I was trained by amazing colleagues – Jenny Hill and Sharad Daniel – they really helped me build confidence. I love MRI. It’s my passion. I’ve taught MRI and X-ray abroad in Saudi Arabia before, but I never had the chance to practise MRI full-time until I joined this company.”

Team culture and new technology

“The centre has changed a lot since I joined – in a really positive way. We work closely as a team, like a family, helping each other and delivering high-quality care. Because of the quality of our service and the feedback we’ve received, the site is now set to get a brand-new MRI machine later this year. That’s a huge development – it means our centre is becoming a central hub for MRI services within Practice Plus Group.

We’ve also seen more private patients coming through using our Wellsoon private healthcare. The demand for MRI is massive, and NHS facilities are overwhelmed. People just want answers quickly, and private services like ours help meet that need. The uptake has been great, and the feedback really reflects that.”

Finding joy in patient care

“The most rewarding part of the job is helping people – giving them a positive experience and producing the best-quality images for diagnosis. That’s what matters. It gives me so much joy to know I’ve played a part in someone’s healthcare journey.

What makes me proud is that my daughter has followed in my footsteps. She’s now a Senior Radiographer too! She’s always taken an interest in my career.”

Michelle Saunders, Service Lead, says: “Celebrating our 20th anniversary is a wonderful reminder of the dedication and teamwork that make our service so special. Congratulations to Sam on reaching 20 years at our Diagnostics Centre – your hard work and commitment to patient care are truly valued and appreciated.”
