High quality healthcare for all

Central services

We collectively refer to as our ‘Central Functions’, head quartered out of our Reading Office. This description is somewhat of an understatement as without their critical input we would be entirely unable to deliver healthcare to our patients in each of our services, right across the country. We have a number of teams with wide ranging specialisation in both IT and Finance but my colleagues will introduce them in more detail under their specific entries.

In addition to these two departments we have a number of others:

  • Business Development leads our research into the healthcare market needs and responds to tenders where we compete to deliver our services in new areas.
  • Marketing takes care of all our internal and external communications, ensuring that patients know what our services have to offer and how to access them when they need to.
  • Our Governance teams support each of our services in keeping services safe and responsive – they ensure that audit and investigations are undertaken in a timely manner and that every opportunity to learn and improve is taken – they also lead liaison with important stakeholders and regulatory bodies such as the CQC and the General Medical Council.
  • Human Resources ensures that we have the right people in the right place at the right time; Practice Plus Group works alongside a wide range of qualified and trained colleagues who provide their services as permanent employees, on a bank (flexible) basis or on a self-employed basis. In addition to recruitment HR, develop and support on all the policies and guidance we need to have in place to ensure we are a great place to work.

These are just a couple of examples, there are several others!

The benefits of working in a central function include the opportunity to have a mixed home-working and office based arrangement – supporting a great work life balance; there are clear career pathways in place and excellent training and development opportunities – much on-line and some face to face. Being based out of our Head Office means that there is the ability to experience cross functional working, particularly across some of the more complex (and interesting) whole-organisation projects. Colleagues are from a wide diversity of backgrounds with a range of different skill-sets but whichever team sparks your interest you will benefit from an emphasis on employee wellbeing, state of the art systems and IT, flexible working, modern offices, opportunities for home working, a great team spirit and most of all – knowing that you are key part of delivering Access To Excellence – our Healthcare mission.
