The National Police Healthcare Scheme (NPHS) has welcomed Practice Plus Group Hospitals as a preferred healthcare partner, giving members and their families greater access to fast, high-quality private healthcare.
The partnership provides eligible NPHS members with access to Practice Plus Group’s nationwide network of 12 hospitals and surgical centres, helping police officers, police staff and their families receive diagnostic scans, surgery and treatment quickly and return to full health sooner.

“Expanding our network with high-quality providers is an important part of ensuring our members have timely access to the care they need.“
Jim Gray, CEO, NPHS
Practice Plus Group Hospitals specialise in elective healthcare services performed by a network of experienced consultants in orthopaedics, ophthalmology, general surgery, gastroenterology, and diagnostic services such as MRI, CT and X-ray scans. Its hospitals and surgical centres are rated Good or Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and are recognised for delivering high-quality patient outcomes and excellent patient satisfaction.
The National Police Healthcare Scheme is a not-for-profit Trust dedicated to supporting the health and wellbeing of the police family, including serving and retired police officers, police staff, student officers, special constables, members of police-related organisations and their families. The scheme provides access to private healthcare with no annual claim limits and covers consultant fees, diagnostic tests, surgery, physiotherapy and follow-up treatment.
A key benefit of the partnership is Practice Plus Group Hospitals’ transparent pricing model. Unlike many private healthcare providers, there are no consultant shortfalls or unexpected additional charges, providing greater cost certainty and a simpler experience for both NPHS members and scheme administrators. Combined with streamlined referral pathways and dedicated support teams, this helps ensure members can navigate their healthcare journey quickly and easily from diagnosis through to treatment and recovery.
Jim Gray, Chief Executive of the National Police Healthcare Scheme, said:
“We are pleased to welcome Practice Plus Group Hospitals as a preferred healthcare partner for members of our scheme. Expanding our network with high-quality providers is an important part of ensuring our members have timely access to the care they need.
“Practice Plus Group Hospitals’ strong clinical reputation, national footprint and transparent approach to delivering healthcare make them a valuable addition to the scheme. We look forward to working together to provide even greater choice and value for our members and their families.”
The partnership reflects both organisations’ commitment to ensuring people have access to expert consultants and quality healthcare that is affordable, accessible and focused on achieving the best possible outcomes for patients.
Claire O’Neill, Partnerships Director, Practice Plus Group Hospitals, added:
“Police officers and staff dedicate their careers to serving their communities, often in challenging circumstances. We’re proud to support the National Police Healthcare Scheme by helping members access expert treatment quickly, so they can focus on their recovery with confidence.
“By combining experienced consultants, high-quality clinical care and transparent pricing with no shortfalls or unexpected costs for members or insurers, we’re making it easier and more reassuring for members to access the treatment they need through a straightforward, trusted healthcare experience.”
