With a decade of experience as a gastroenterologist, Mr Sansone specialises in upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy.
Mr Stefano Sansone is an experienced consultant gastroenterologist at Nottingham University Hospital. He completed his medical degree at the Second University of Naples, School of Medicine, Italy, in 2009. Subsequently, he undertook specialty training in gastroenterology at the University of Naples Federico II in Italy, achieving certification in upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy.
Mr Sansone has a particular interest in therapeutic endoscopy, specialising in complex endoscopic resection techniques, including EMR (Endoscopic Mucosal Resection) and ESD (Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection). He also completed training under internationally renowned endoscopy experts and has been an accredited bowel cancer screening endoscopist since 2020.

Mr Sansone offers three types of endoscopy procedure. These can be accessed as a private patient (through self-pay or your private health insurance company) or via the NHS with a referral from your GP or specialist. The three types of endoscopy are:
In each case, the endoscopist will explain what they have found at the end of the procedure. About two to three weeks after your procedure, your GP will receive your results.
