Biography

Having qualified in Egypt, Mr Rafik Arsany completed his anaesthetic training program in the UK. He has worked in various NHS and private hospital in different regions in the UK for 25 years with a wealth and breadth of experience in anaesthesia and Intensive care medicine.

Mr Arsany has a special interest in Total Intravenous Anaesthesia, depth of anaesthesia monitoring and difficult airway management.

Mr Arsany has worked in many hospitals in various regions with his being Airedale Hospital NHS foundation trust before joining Practice Plus Group Hospital, Southampton in 2023.

Research and publications

He has been involved in regional anaesthesia research and the use of AirTraq and McGrath video laryngoscopy difficult airway devices.

Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists for 25 years
Member of the Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland (AAGBI) British medical Association (BMA)

Hobbies and interests

His main interest at present is staff wellbeing and ergonomics in the workplace. He is involved in charity work outside the workplace which he finds very rewarding.
