Mr Fadi Alfaqawi is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon renowned for his expertise in cataract, cornea, and refractive surgery. With memberships in prestigious professional organisations such as the European Board of Ophthalmology, the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, and various others, Mr Alfaqawi stands as a respected figure in his field.
His unwavering commitment is rooted in providing personalised, cutting-edge care, aiming to empower patients to achieve optimal outcomes and a higher quality of life.
Regarded by both patients and colleagues alike, Mr Alfaqawi is recognised for his compassionate approach and surgical prowess, delivering successful, life-changing procedures, completing more than 2000 eye surgeries in 2024 with remarkable outcomes.
In 2015, Mr Alfaqawi underwent training in ophthalmology, first in Birmingham and later in Liverpool, where his dedication earned him the NEOS oral presentation award. Further honing his skills, he pursued an intensive course in Refractive, Cornea, and Lens Surgery at Miguel Hernández University in Spain, enriching his proficiency in advanced surgical techniques.
Mr Alfaqawi is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and the European Board of Ophthalmology. He also holds the Certificate of Laser and Refractive Surgery (CertLRS).
Beyond his clinical work, Mr Alfaqawi plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of ophthalmology. Serving as the RCOphth Simulation Champion and an examiner for prestigious institutions, he is dedicated to nurturing the skills of aspiring ophthalmologists and optometrists. As a researcher, Mr Alfaqawi has contributed to the field with publications in esteemed journals and active participation in national and international conferences.
In addition to his professional endeavours, Mr Alfaqawi is devoted to philanthropy, actively raising funds for charitable causes aimed at combating blindness globally. Alongside his wife and young son, he finds joy in family life and remains committed to making a meaningful difference.
