Mr Mourabit has concentrated on advancing his surgical expertise in cataract surgery, with a particular focus on managing high-risk and complex cases. He is also trained in Small Incision Cataract Surgery (SICS), a technique especially valuable in underserved regions. He enjoys reading broadly in the human sciences, psychology, sociology, history, philosophy, and religions. Physical fitness is also a cornerstone of his routine, recognising that maintaining a strong, healthy body is essential for performing high-responsibility, demanding, and often high-pressure work at the highest standard.
Mr Mourabit volunteers as a general ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon with the French charity SEMA, delivering vital ophthalmic care in Morocco. He has also established a partnership with a charity in Gabon to provide volunteer cataract surgeries for the most vulnerable members of the community, with the programme set to begin in 2026.
Alongside his medical work, he serves as director and teacher of an educational trust supporting children, young people, and adults within the French community in the UK. Through language support, educational guidance, and personal development programmes, he helps young people cultivate purpose, ambition, and responsibility, equipping them to thrive as the next generation of leaders.
