Charles Ayekoloye

Mr Akekoloye is patient-centred, he views each patient as an individual, involving them in their care and treating them with dignity and respect. He ensures patients are actively engaged in shared decision-making regarding their treatment.

Having completed his orthopaedic training in Northwest England, Mr Ayekoloye undertook further training, including fellowships in revision hip and knee arthroplasties at King’s College Hospital, London, Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading, and a senior clinical fellowship in adult reconstruction under Professor Allan Gross at Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto. There, he gained expertise in advanced hip reconstruction techniques, including specialised hip exposures, bone grafts and augments for complex acetabular defects, and the use of various femoral stems, dual mobility, and constrained liners. For knees, he developed skills in complex primary knee replacements, utilising stems, augments, sleeves, and a range of constraints for challenging reconstructions.

Mr Charles Ayekoloye earned a Distinction in Anatomy in 1981 from University College Hospital, Ibadan, Nigeria, and a Distinction in a Master’s in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2017 from the University of Salford, United Kingdom.

Mr Ayekoloye offers same-day hip and knee replacements, including medial unicompartmental knee replacements, for carefully selected patients who are healthy and motivated. Over the past two years, he has performed 190 same-day joint replacements, achieving an approximate 80% same-day discharge rate.

Mr Ayekoloye has carried out research in the past and has published in many prestigious specialty-specific peer-review journals.
