Biography
Miss Lara Vassia graduated from the University of Verona Medical School in 2000. She completed her specialist training in orthopaedic and trauma surgery at Verona University Hospital, obtaining her residency diploma (FRCS Trauma and Orthopaedic equivalent) in 2005.
She worked as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon in Italy for nearly 20 years, gaining extensive experience in elective hand surgery, upper limb trauma, microsurgical reconstructions, general trauma, and hip arthroplasty. She has also undertaken prestigious fellowships in the UK, including paediatric hand surgery at Great Ormond Street Hospital (2009), spinal surgery at St George’s Hospital (2013–2017), hip revision surgery at Bedford Hospital, and peripheral nerve injury at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (Stanmore, 2022).
In addition, Miss Vassia completed a diploma in microsurgery at the École de Chirurgie, Paris, in 2004. Her international training and breadth of experience allow her to offer patients advanced surgical techniques, with a particular focus on hand and upper limb procedures, trauma, and complex reconstructive surgery.
She has been on the UK Specialist Register since 2008.
