Why see an Allianz-approved consultant in the UK?

If you have an Allianz health insurance policy, you can use an approved consultant to provide your healthcare. And, at Practice Plus Group, the process of accessing this care through your Allianz insurance health insurance is simple – we’ll look closer at this later on in this blog.

With Practice Plus Group, Allianz health insurance policyholders have the ability to make decisions about their healthcare based on the type of treatment they need, hospital location, and whether an approved consultant is right for their specific needs.

For more information about consultant choice and hospital lists, please take a look at the Allianz website.

How to find a specialist that Allianz UK patients can book with confidence

Thanks to our Allianz consultant finder, the stress of searching for the right consultant is a thing of the past. The handy extra filters allow you to search by treatment type and location which help to make your experience as straightforward as possible.

Choosing your approved consultant is an important decision to make, so remember to take your time when doing so. Your chosen specialist should have experience carrying out the treatment you need, as well as good reviews from past patients.

Before you progress to make a booking with us at Practice Plus Group, remember to check the terms of your policy to make sure the specific treatment you need is covered.

Allianz consultant fees explained

When it comes to fees and costs, you need to remember that these vary depending on the type of treatment needed and who the insurance provider is.

And, when it comes to taking out private health insurance with Allianz, be aware that their specific requirements may differ from other insurance providers. With that in mind, you’ll need to ensure these parameters are met before you can progress with your claim and be approved for treatment.

For more information on consultant fees and the costs you may incur for insured healthcare treatment, you’ll need to visit the Allianz website.

How it works

As we mentioned earlier, it’s now time to look at the process of accessing private healthcare with us via private health insurance. The following step-by-step guide breaks it all down into easy-to-understand sections.

Contact your health insurance provider

Before you can get to treatment, the first thing you’ll need to do is get in touch with Allianz. They’ll be able to tell you whether your treatment is financially covered by the terms of your policy and, if it is, they’ll provide you with an authorisation code. This code allows you to proceed to booking an initial consultation with us, so be sure to keep it somewhere safe!

Choose a recognised consultant

Once you’ve got your authorisation code, Allianz will also send you a list of consultants that they’ve approved to carry out treatment for your issue. At this point, you’ll need to make a decision as to which one you’d like to see for a consultation. Remember to take your time; choosing a consultant is an important decision and you may wish to do your own research.

Book an initial consultation

Once you’ve chosen a consultant, the next step is to get in touch with us. Our friendly patient advisors will get you booked in for an initial consultation at a time that suits you.

Remember, your pre-surgery consultation is an opportunity to learn more about your specific health issue. Don’t be reluctant to speak up and ask your consultant plenty of questions about what’s to come. Depending on your condition, further diagnostic tests may be needed to arrive at a diagnosis.

Book your procedure

If you need treatment, we’ll provide you with a procedure code. This is sometimes also called a CCSD code which you’ll need to give to Allianz so they can confirm your treatment is covered.

How payment works

Please ensure that you have authorised your treatment directly with Allianz. As an insured patient, you’ll need to have your authorisation code available for each step of your treatment.

Allianz will be able to advise you of any fees or excess payments you may be liable for. These may include:

  • excess payments
  • cost-share agreements
  • limits on outpatient consultations
  • diagnostic tests
  • any policy restrictions that could financially affect you.

To confirm whether you need to pay any excesses, clarify the limitations and liabilities on your policy, you’ll need to get in touch with Allianz directly.

Allianz consultant reviews

If persistent pain is affecting your quality of life, it might be time to get it sorted. And that’s where our Allianz-approved specialists come in. They’re on-hand to help get you back on your feet and enjoying life again. But don’t just take our word for it, have a look at what a past patient has said about his experience with one of our Allianz-approved consultants.
