Our Barlborough hospital team have once again demonstrated their commitment to the community by taking part in an annual Mission Christmas charity toy appeal organised by Derbyshire charity Cash For Kids to help ensure that children in need can still experience the joy of Christmas.

This year, staff and friends of Practice Plus Group Hospital, Barlborough donated a wide range of children’s gifts including toys, books and cuddly teddies. The generous donations were delivered to the local collection point at Notcutts Garden Centre in the Dukeries, which is once again hosting its annual toy drive in support of Cash for Kids.
For many families, Mission Christmas is a vital lifeline. The appeal is about far more than presents under the tree – it is about reminding children, particularly during the darkest of times, that they are seen, loved and valued. It helps to ensure that no child wakes up on Christmas morning feeling forgotten.

“Mission Christmas makes a real difference to children and families in our community, and it is heart-warming to see everyone come together to support such an important cause.”
Steve Booker, Hospital Director, Practice Plus Group Hospital, Barlborough
The Notcutts toy drive plays an important role in the regional Mission Christmas campaign, collecting and distributing gifts to disadvantaged children and young people across the area. Cash for Kids works closely with schools, charities and social services to make sure donations reach families who are facing financial hardship and may otherwise struggle to provide gifts at Christmas.
Steve Booker, Hospital Director, praised the generosity shown by those involved. He said:
“Thanks to the collective efforts of the community, Notcutts Garden Centre and Cash for Kids, many local children will wake up on Christmas morning with a gift. I am incredibly proud of the kindness and generosity shown by our colleagues and friends. Mission Christmas makes a real difference to children and families in our community, and it is heart-warming to see everyone come together to support such an important cause. Every donation helps bring comfort and happiness to a child who truly needs it.”
