Our gastroenterologists deliver high quality endoscopy services in our hospitals. They have substantive independent experience of key procedures listed below and have an excellent clinical quality record and a track record of performing efficiently in theatre. Our team are required to deliver high quality upper and lower day case gastroenterology services which are carried out principally under local anaesthesia with or without sedation.
If you would like to join our teams you will be required to demonstrate a high level of skill in the following areas:
- Diagnostic Oesophago-Gastro-Duodenoscopy
- Diagnostic Flexible Sigmoidoscopy
- Diagnostic Colonoscopy
- Expertise in therapeutic Colonoscopy in particular resection of colonic polyps
- Safe sedation practice
- Managing any complications of these procedures.
All of our consultants demonstrate a commitment to excellent teamwork with clinical colleagues, they utilise and develop clinical care pathways in the overall management of patients and assist in improving these pathways over time. As a small team we build on close relations with other surgical colleagues as part of our multidisciplinary team.
All our Gastroenterology team comply with British Society of Gastroenterologist guidelines and participate in the collection and submission of Global Rating Scale and patient outcome data valid towards annual revalidation of Jag accreditation.
At Practice Plus Group our consultants are supported by our team of administrators allowing them to focus on patient care. As all our surgery is elective this means it is very rare for any list to be cancelled, so start and finish times are usually predicable enabling consultants to have a life outside of the hospital. Work life balance is important to us at Practice Plus Group.
Our medical leadership structure is considered our ‘jewel in the crown’ with local leads in each speciality supported by a local Medical Director and National Clinical Directors and Medical Director. This structure not only means all our consultants have access to the support and knowledge they need but also provides clear career pathways for those looking to progress.
We are small enough to facilitate close working relationships, but large enough to make a significant contribution across many avenues of healthcare and operate large diverse health delivery models. There’s a very positive attitude among staff – and patients – here which is very refreshing. Colleagues have a genuine ‘can do’ philosophy which results in patients who are incredibly positive about the experience they’ve received.
