Previously was National Director of Improvement and Efficiency at the Department of Health. Led the national Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention (QIPP) project that works across the NHS to improve both quality and efficiency.
Was also Chief Executive of the NHS South Central Strategic Health Authority, and Chief Executive Officer of York Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
More than 30 years’ experience in the NHS, with experience in primary care, mental health, healthcare commissioning and policy development.
Joined Practice Plus Group (formerly Care UK) in November 2012 when the company acquired Harmoni.
Joined Harmoni in 2009 as a self-employed GP, appointed in January 2010 as Clinical Director in a GP practice with a walk-in centre, and an out-of-hours service. She then became a Regional Medical Director in East of England in June 2012, then National Medical Director in September 2013, overseeing all clinical aspects of Practice Plus Group’s primary care services.
Still works as a GP in clinical practice and out-of-hours services in North East Essex, an area which includes highly deprived areas.
Passionate about quality, governance and strong clinical leadership. Marjorie provides a clinical voice into Practice Plus Group at Executive Board Level.
She is also Practice Plus Groups Caldicott Guardian for information sharing and the Deputy Responsible Officer for standards of medical practitioners.
Joined Practice Plus Group (formerly Care UK) in January 2013 as the Lead Nurse at The Junction Health Centre and Walk-in Centre. The role was integral to the development of the service and the expansion of a dynamic team of Advanced Nurse Practitioners.
Became the Director of Nursing and Professions in May 2017 overseeing clinical aspects of Practice Plus Group’s primary care services. Working across Health in Justice, IUC/111/OOH and New Services with the aim and ambition of sharing best practice and innovation.
Remains passionate about quality patient care and the safeguarding of patients and colleagues.
