‘CSR in primary care optometry’
Central serous retinopathy (CSR) is the fourth most common medical retinal condition which affects mainly patients of working age. It is a condition that may lend itself for triage and monitoring by community optometrists. The objective is to provide transfer of knowledge and skills in the understanding of CSR with particular emphasis on diagnosis, patient explanation of natural history and how to monitor and be more selective of when and which patients to refer from primary care to secondary care.

About the speaker:

Yit Yang
Professor Yit Yang is a consultant ophthalmologist and retinal specialist at Wolverhampton Eye Infirmary. In addition to providing tertiary level retinal service, he also provides high volume cataract surgery for high and low complexity cases. He has provided cataract surgery training for regional trainees for over 20 years and has achieved ‘Trainer of the Year’ award several times. He has been involved as PI on over 50 clinical trials and has published over a hundred and thirty peer reviewed papers. He has also collaborated with several universities on basic science research and has been a visiting professor at Aston University since 2008.
