Biography

Mr Vitali Goriainov completed his medical degree at the University of Southampton and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2007. His basic orthopaedic training was in the Wessex region. Before completing his training, he obtained a PhD degree in Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research. He completed further specialist Fellowship training in Hip Arthroscopy and Preservation Surgery in Reading (Royal Berkshire County Hospital).

Mr Goriainov is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon with a specialist practice in hip and knee disorders. His more specific interest lies in hip preservation surgery aimed at preventing or delaying the onset of hip arthritis by addressing underlying conditions.

Research and publications

Mr Goriainov is involved in research, teaching, and training. He also completed an MSc in Orthopaedic Engineering at Cardiff University and a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education (PG CertMedEd) at the University of Dundee. He has over 20 publications and was appointed as an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Southampton. His research interests include Regenerative Medicine, Skeletal Stem Cell research, and the use of Novel Materials and Technologies in Joint Replacement Surgery.

Hobbies and interests

Mr Goriainov enjoys sports, including tennis, swimming, surfing and stand-up paddle boarding.
