Dr Paul Sheridan is a consultant cardiac surgeon who supports the pre-assessment and diagnostics team at Practice Plus Group Hospital, Barlborough. He provides expert cardiac assessments, including echocardiograms, for patients who are preparing for surgery. His role helps ensure that patients receive timely cardiac evaluations within their care pathway, avoiding the need for external referrals and helping to keep treatment on track. Please note: Dr Sheridan provides cardiology assessments for patients who are already under our care as part of their surgical pathway. He does not offer standalone or self-referral cardiology consultations.
Paul Sheridan has more than 10 years’ experience as a consultant cardiologist in the NHS and commenced private medical practice in 2014. Dr Sheridan graduated in 1996 with distinction from the University of Sheffield and undertook specialist training in the Royal London Hospitals Trust and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. His training included a clinical fellowship in Invasive Cardiac Electrophysiology at the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle-upon-Tyne. He has worked within the NHS as a consultant cardiologist since 2008.
Dr Sheridan’s NHS clinical practice is based at Chesterfield Royal Hospital and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trusts. He routinely manages all acute and chronic heart conditions in outpatient and inpatient settings. Additionally, he has a specialist interest in heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmias) and has been accredited by the International Board of Hearts Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE), formerly NASPE.
