Biography

Murthy is a Consultant in General Surgery, Bariatric Surgery and has a CCT in General Surgery after his specialist training from Leicester. Murthy brings his experience of having worked as a Consultant Surgeon in the NHS and in the independent sector in senior roles as a Medical Director, Managing Director, a CQC SpA and the Chair of Research Ethics for over 10 years; alongside being a registered manager and a CDAO for independent hospitals.

Murthy has been leading on setting up endoscopy units and managing JAG certification and Quality Standards over the last 5 years for a few independent hospitals across the country. Murthy is a JAG-accredited trainer, UGI scopist and therapeutic upper GI endoscopy specialist with national and international experience of endosuturing and endoscopic treatments like gastric balloons.
