Biography
Mr Malcolm Podmore is a fully UK-trained consultant orthopaedic and trauma surgeon with over 35 years of experience. He graduated from The Middlesex Hospital Medical School in London, earning a BSc in Human Anatomy and Evolution followed by his medical degree (MBBS).
He completed specialist training in Orthopaedics and Trauma at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, London, receiving his CCST in Trauma and Orthopaedics and fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of London (FRCS & FRCS-Orthopaedics).
He was appointed consultant orthopaedic and trauma surgeon at North Devon District Hospital in 2001, where he practiced general trauma and elective orthopaedics, specialising in hip and knee replacements. He also held teaching and leadership roles, including a term as lead clinician in orthopaedics.
Mr Podmore later worked in the UAE, performing hip and knee replacements and holding senior management posts as Medical Director and Chief Medical Officer. He is known for his calm, communicative approach and strong emphasis on patient empowerment and shared decision-making.
