Jozsef Nemes

Mr Nemes graduated from Semmelweis University Medical School in Budapest in 1982, where he completed his specialty training in trauma and orthopaedics. He further honed his expertise through fellowship programs in Germany and Sweden, focusing on arthroscopic knee ACL, shoulder, and sports surgery. He served at the Teaching Hospital of Szeged University, Hungary, for over 25 years, becoming Head of the Orthopaedic Department in 2004 and a member of the Hungarian National Board of Orthopaedics. A pioneer in his field, Mr Nemes performed the first hip resurfacing in Hungary in 2005 and introduced operative hip arthroscopies. After moving to the UK in 2006, he worked as a consultant at the Greater Manchester Surgical Centre before joining Practice Plus Group. His expertise includes cutting-edge techniques in major joint surgery, particularly in sports-related injuries and hip arthroscopy, ensuring high-precision interventions for complex orthopaedic conditions.

Mr Nemes is dedicated to enhancing patients’ quality of life through advanced surgical interventions. With a strong focus on anatomic anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, he employs state-of-the-art instruments and implants to achieve optimal outcomes. His patient-centered approach emphasises precision, leveraging his extensive experience in arthroscopic knee, shoulder, and hip surgeries to ensure tailored treatment plans that prioritise recovery and long-term mobility. Mr Nemes takes pride in significantly improving patients’ lives post-surgery, drawing on his multilingual capabilities in English, German, Hungarian, and Russian to communicate effectively with diverse patients.

2016 : The ARENA study was a multi-centred randomised controlled trial to evaluate the clinical and cost-effectiveness of group-based outpatient physiotherapy after knee replacement.
