Mr Dimitrios Miligkos completed his medical degree in the University of Athens, Greece before moving to the UK to undertake training in obstetrics and gynaecology. He has been a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist since 2014.
Mr Miligkos performs advanced laparoscopic surgery and operative hysteroscopy and his main interests are minimal access surgery and treatment to endometriosis, pelvic pain and menstrual disorders. He is the Clinical Lead for Gynaecology and Outpatient Hysteroscopy in Princess Anne Hospital, Southampton and is passionate about women’s wellbeing and reproductive health. He has led various projects in improving the Gynaecology service, strategy development and long term workforce strategy planning.
Mr Miligkos performs advanced laparoscopic surgery and operative hysteroscopy and his main interests are Minimal Access Surgery and treatment to endometriosis, pelvic pain, menstrual disorders and colposcopy.
Research and publications
Mr Miligkos has been awarded a PhD on investigating the role of Insulin-like Growth Factors in the pathogenesis of endometriosis.
He has published many research papers in peer reviewed medical journals and has been the primary investigator for Southampton in multi centre research studies on endometriosis and menstrual disorders.

Hobbies and interests
Mr Miligko’s hobbies include running, rock climbing, water sports and reading books. He enjoys spending time with his family and going for relaxing walks in the countryside.
