Damien Tucker

Mr. Damien Tucker’s specialist training includes an MBChB (Hons) from the University of Cape Town (2007), an MD from the University of Bristol (2017), and FRCS (Tr & Orth) from the Royal College of Surgeons (2020). His higher specialist training in Bristol and Perth, Australia, focused on upper limb orthopaedics. He excels in arthroscopic (keyhole) procedures for shoulder and elbow conditions, including rotator cuff repairs, subacromial decompressions, and shoulder instability corrections. His expertise extends to shoulder replacements, soft tissue elbow procedures (e.g., tennis elbow, cubital tunnel release), and hand/wrist surgeries like carpal tunnel decompression, trigger finger release, Dupuytren’s surgery, trapeziectomy, and wrist arthroscopy. Mr. Tucker’s techniques prioritise minimally invasive approaches to reduce recovery time and optimise outcomes. His research on mesenchymal stem cells enhances his ability to integrate cutting-edge methods into clinical practice, ensuring precision and innovation in surgical care.

Mr Tucker considers it a privilege being able to offer his expertise in the alleviation of pain and distress in his patient’s lives. He tries to take a holistic view of the patients under his care. He takes the time to listen to their goals and expectations and try and keep those at the heart of the care that he delivers. He would only ever offer surgery when it is truly in the patient’s best interest.
