Mr Ameet Gupta is a consultant urological surgeon at at Practice Plus Group Hospital, Birmingham, with over 18 years’ experience in general urology and uro-oncology. He is highly regarded for his clear communication, patient-centred approach, and commitment to delivering safe, effective care for a wide range of urological conditions. He currently also works at New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton (The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust), where he is part of the Men’s Health Service.
Mr Gupta graduated in London in 2007 and completed foundation training in the East Midlands. He undertook two years of research into bladder cancer in Cardiff before progressing to higher surgical training across the West Midlands. Following completion of training, he gained further specialist experience through fellowships at The Alfred Hospital, Melbourne—one of the busiest trauma centres in the Southern Hemisphere—and University College Hospital, London (UCLH), a world-leading urology centre. These roles provided advanced exposure to complex urological surgery, including robotic techniques for prostate and bladder cancer.
His current practice encompasses all aspects of general urology, including the management of lower urinary tract symptoms, benign prostate disease, haematuria, and stone disease, alongside specialist care for urological cancers. He is passionate about improving men’s health and regularly delivers educational sessions for patients and staff. Mr Gupta brings a combination of technical expertise, academic insight, and a strong focus on patient experience, making him well placed to provide high-quality urological care within a multidisciplinary team.

Mr Gupta enjoys running, strength training, cooking and Australian Rules Football.
Outside of work, Ameet enjoys an active lifestyle and values time with family. He keeps fit through regular running and strength training, often taking part in local runs and charity events. Away from the hospital, he loves spending quality time with his family and friends, whether exploring the outdoors or relaxing at home. A keen home cook, Ameet enjoys experimenting with new recipes and creating meals that bring people together. During his time in Australia, he developed a passion for Australian Rules Football and is now a proud supporter of the Geelong Cats.

The first step on your self-pay journey is to book an appointment. The good news here is that you don’t always need a referral. This means you won’t necessarily need to make a GP appointment beforehand. Once your referral is dealt with, our friendly staff will book you in at the hospital of your choice.
Once your appointment is booked, it’s time for your initial consultation. This includes a nurse’s assessment and an x-ray (if required). The consultant will then talk you through the treatment options and indicate whether further tests are required. Your initial consultation costs £95.
Once you have undertaken any diagnostic tests required and treatment has been agreed with the consultant, we’ll get you booked in for surgery at a time and date that’s convenient for you.
Payment needs to be made seven days prior to the start of your treatment. This can be made via credit or debit card, BACS, or through our finance partner Chrysalis. Finance is available over 12 months 0% or longer-term options available from 36-60 months 14.9% APR.
We’re committed to honest pricing which means that the quote we give you for treatment is all inclusive. This includes prescriptions, aftercare, equipment used and any extra complications that may arise.
While you’re having your treatment, our friendly and experienced nursing team and your consultant will be with you every step of the way. This is thanks to our commitment to continuity of care. You’ll also enjoy state-of-the-art facilities and our excellent clinical outcomes.
