Mr Malek is a multi-award winning, highly skilled and experienced orthopaedic surgeon with over 15 years of experience as a consultant. In 2025, Mr Malek was awarded the ‘Hip & Knee Surgeon of the Year’ award, recognised by Global Health and Pharma.
Mr Malek completed his orthopaedic training from Wales and fellowship training from Stanmore, London. He learnt essential skills of hip and knee replacements from some of the best internationally renowned surgeons like Ms S Muirhead-Allwood, Prof T Briggs, Prof J Skinner, and Mr R Carrington. He started his substantive consultant career in Staffordshire but left the NHS in 2019.
His core practice is minimally invasive hip and knee replacement surgery with enhanced recovery pathway. He is one of the first surgeons in the country to use the STAR approach for hip replacements. He is a big advocate for partial knee replacement if the option is available.
He has been the highest volume hip and knee replacement surgeon in the country for five years according to the UK National Joint Registry database that collects data for every joint replacement performed in the UK for last the 25 years.
