Biography
Mr Pouya Akhbari is a fellowship-trained upper limb surgeon specialising in complex shoulder and elbow trauma, arthroplasty, and soft tissue procedures. He completed his medical training at King’s College London, with further studies including an MSc in trauma and orthopaedics and an MD in research from Imperial College London.
His MD research focused on metabolic profiling in osteoarthritis and joint infections. He has completed several prestigious fellowships in sports medicine, upper limb surgery, and trauma in the UK and Australia.
Since becoming a consultant in 2021, he has expertise in complex fractures, arthroplasty, and reconstructive surgery. He has also established an ultrasound-guided injection service, performing over 100 procedures for conditions like impingement, frozen shoulder, and tendinopathies.
