When Bharat Khunti, a pharmacy technician at HMP Stocken, joined Practice Plus Group five months ago, he was looking for a challenge and an opportunity to grow.
“I absolutely love my job. I get the opportunity to learn something new every day, and build rapport with my patients, supporting them as they manage their short-term conditions. I am not here to judge; I want to make a difference and I feel I can do it here.
I started my career working in a community setting, then joined a GP practice. However, I felt I wanted more, I wanted to be challenged and be the best pharmacy technician I could be.
Time for a change!
When I first learned of the job opening at Practice Plus Group, I knew that it was my call, and I got in touch with the hiring team to discuss the opportunity with them. They were very supportive and I felt immediately at ease.
I now support our patients to manage a variety of different conditions and the continuous exchange with our multi-disciplinary team allows me to learn something new every day.
A role that fits around me
My day starts at 7:30am with visits and medication rounds. I get to know my patients and I never feel stressed. I look forward to going to work and starting another day where I know I can really make a difference in my patients’ lives.
The working hours are quite flexible: I work four days a week and one weekend a month. That allows me to fit my job around my personal life and it’s just an added bonus.
I feel truly supported and encouraged by my team and my manager, and I cannot wait to develop my skillset even further, to progress my career at Practice Plus Group”.
