I’m passionate about driving new technologies to improve patient care. My job is to draw on the expertise and knowledge of our teams and the capability and capacity within our clinical call centres to explore what can be used to enhance our services; both positively transforming the patient experience and providing better value for money.
We focus on ensuring that care delivery, supported by digital technology, is safe and provides a quantifiable benefit to the service user. This might be the ability to speed up access, a way to provide more convenient care to match patients’ busy modern lives or reducing infection risk by remote monitoring to proactively keep people well or support them post discharge.
I’m proud of taking thoughts that were once someone’s tentative idea and moving them into actual care provision for patients in the real world. It means more responsive services, which put the phrase ‘patient-centred’ into practice, and provide new ways of adding value for commissioners.
