Learn more about Mehtan Ahmed
Mr Ahmed offers three types of endoscopy procedure. These can be accessed as a private patient (through self-pay or your private health insurance company) or via the NHS with a referral from your GP or specialist. The three types of endoscopy are:
- Colonoscopy
- Flexible sigmoidoscopy
- Gastroscopy (OGD) or upper GI endoscopy.
In each case, the endoscopist will explain what they have found at the end of the procedure. About two to three weeks after your procedure, your GP will receive your results.
If you would like to book an endoscopy, simply call 0330 058 1719 or fill out the form on this page.
At Practice Plus Group Ilford, we are a vastly experienced team of dedicated endoscopy staff who have worked together for many years in a bespoke unit that utilises the latest equipment. We acknowledge that endoscopy is an invasive and potentially worrisome procedure but we strive to make the process as smooth and comfortable as possible for all of our patients.
Dr Ahmed is experienced in water-assisted colonoscopy, a gentler technique that improves patient comfort and allows for more accurate examinations. He is fully certified in upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy and is trained to teach these procedures to other clinicians.
Dr Ahmed is a member of the British Society of Gastroenterology and holds dual accreditation in General Medicine and Gastroenterology. As lead endoscopist at Practice Plus Group, Ilford, he oversees the training and development of junior endoscopists and nursing staff, sharing his expertise in advanced endoscopic techniques, including water-assisted colonoscopy.
