We make the surgery as safe as possible for our patients. However, any surgery does carry some risk. Possible complications for hip surgery are clots in the leg, but we try to avoid this by encouraging our patients to move around as quickly as possible after surgery, and by giving blood thinning medication. Other possible complications include infection, damage to nerves and muscles, dislocation of the implant, and limb length discrepancy. By following the correct surgical technique and meticulous planning and attention to detail, we aim to avoid these complications.
