Mr Mannan has 20 years of experience as an orthopaedic surgeon, specialising in hip and knee replacement surgery. For selected patients, he also provides arthroscopic knee surgery, including meniscal surgery and repair.
Mr Mannan was appointed as an orthopaedic consultant at Practice plus group Hospital, Ilford in 2023. He trained at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas medical school, having also gained an intercalated BSc in Human Anatomy.
He completed basic surgical and higher orthopaedic training in the Yorkshire Deanery’s competitive run-through program. After training, he undertook fellowships in hip and knee arthroplasty at the Exeter Knee Reconstruction Unit and Harrogate, under leading surgeons Professors Andrew Toms and Nick London. Following a fellowship at Wexham Park Hospital, he became a locum consultant before securing a permanent position in Ilford in 2023.
Mr Mannan offers opinions and treatment for hip and knee conditions, with a focus on managing osteoarthritis of the hip and knee. His interests include joint preservation and high-functioning joint replacement surgery. He specialises in partial and total knee replacements (including complex knee arthroplasty), uncemented and cemented hip replacements.
