‘Retinal complications of cataract surgery’

This presentation is aimed at bringing the community optometrist right up to date with knowledge of what to look for when performing post op checks on patients who have had cataract surgery. It also instructs on when to refer patients urgently and how to reassure those that don’t require referral back into secondary care.

Yit Yang
Professor Yit Yang is a consultant ophthalmologist and retinal specialist at Wolverhampton Eye Infirmary. In addition to providing tertiary level retinal service, he also provides high volume cataract surgery for high and low complexity cases. He has provided cataract surgery training for regional trainees for over 20 years and has achieved ‘Trainer of the Year’ award several times. He has been involved as PI on over 50 clinical trials and has published over a hundred and thirty peer reviewed papers. He has also collaborated with several universities on basic science research and has been a visiting professor at Aston University since 2008.
