About the speaker

Graham McCollum
Mr McCollum qualified in 2012 from Hull York Medical School, with a BSc in Human Physiology from Leeds University. He completed foundation training in Hull and Grimsby, including 4 months in ophthalmology, followed by a year as a trust grade ENT doctor. He then undertook 7 years of ophthalmology training in the Yorkshire deanery, 3 years focused on vitreoretinal surgery, and a 6-month vitreoretinal fellowship in Bradford. Now a consultant at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS, he specialises in complex cataract and vitreoretinal surgery, including macular hole repairs, retinal detachments, epiretinal membrane peels, and secondary lens implantation, regularly auditing outcomes to maintain high standards.
Mr McCollum has a particular interest in high volume and complex cataract surgery in addition to routine and emergency vitreoretinal work.
