This presentation is intended for optometrists who need basic and intermediate skills in interpretation of OCT scans of the macular. It illustrates the indications for scanning as well as the 4 layer approach and 4 skill levels of interpretation.

Yit Yang
Professor Yit Yang is a consultant ophthalmologist and retinal specialist at Wolverhampton Eye Infirmary. In addition to providing tertiary level retinal service, he also provides high volume cataract surgery for high and low complexity cases. He has provided cataract surgery training for regional trainees for over 20 years and has achieved ‘Trainer of the Year’ award several times. He has been involved as PI on over 50 clinical trials and has published over a hundred and thirty peer reviewed papers. He has also collaborated with several universities on basic science research and has been a visiting professor at Aston University since 2008.
