This course has been designed to help community optometrists apply diagnostic techniques for identifying dry eye disease in patients, incorporating clinical assessments and patient history to effectively diagnose and treat lacrimal dysfunction syndrome and refer confidently.

Dr. Massimo Sibilio is a highly experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist specialising in cataract and ophthalmic plastic surgery. He earned his medical degree cum laude from Università  degli Studi di Roma ‘La Sapienza’ and completed his specialist diploma in ophthalmology at Universita  degli Studi di L’Aquila. 

With over 30 years of experience across Italy, the UK, and Spain, Dr. Sibilio has held consultant roles at leading institutions, including Moorfields Eye Hospital, CareUK, and Optegra. He has extensive expertise in high-volume cataract surgery, orbital and eyelid procedures, and service development within ophthalmology. 

Committed to education and research, he has trained medical professionals, collaborated with the University of Portsmouth on Ophthalmic innovations, and contributed to surgical instrument design. He has also volunteered in humanitarian eye care missions. Dr. Sibilio is a member of several professional societies and is currently a consultant ophthalmologist at Practice Plus Group, Gillingham, UK.
