‘Cataract – from referral to discharge’
Discussion on local cataract acceptance criteria and the ideal patient journey from assessment to discharge. The workshop will cover a range of post-operative complications, focusing on those who should be referred back to Secondary Care. We will discuss several case scenarios as a group and then end with a short Q&A session.

About the speaker:
Gavin Sampson
Having been involved in optometry/ophthalmology for 15 years, Mr Sampson has a wealth of experience in both primary and secondary care. Currently he is one of two Lead Optometrists with oversight at national level. Clinically he specialises in pre and post-op cataract care, post-op medical management and YAG laser procedures.
He is also involved in clinical governance for ophthalmology at a local level. He is on the specialist register for independent prescribers and has additional experience in glaucoma and AMD management.
